Should Be Called "Fool's Gold Club"
I wrote a review two days ago, but it didn't show up. Maybe I forgot to hit submit. And yes, alcohol may have been involved.
Bottom line up front, my trip to Gold Club was a total disappointment. I am a big fan of Dean's Gold Club in Miami and I heard an ad on the radio that made the Gold Club in Tampa sound similar. It was not.
I arrived at about 11pm after starting out at Scarlett's. The Club was easy to find and parking was great. I paid a $10 cover to two very hot girls at the front desk. I'll return to that thought later. As you enter the club, the bar is right in front of you. I stopped for a bourbon and I think it was around $12. I gave the bartender a $20 bill and got a few bills back but didn't really count it. I put this in my review because one of the reviewers criticized me for not including drink prices in a previous review. Honestly, I don't pay much attention to the cover charge or drink prices so that's why I don't put them in my reviews. A club has to make money to stay in business. And in the strip club business there are really only three ways to do that - cover charge, drink prices, and a cut of the private dance charges. Many guys go into a club and don't buy private dances, then complain about the cover or drink prices. How the hell do they think these places can stay in business. As long as I can get in the door under $50 and buy a drink under $20, I don't really keep track of prices. I only have three criteria for a good club - clean upscale look, hot dancers, and good mileage.
