CAYENNE SAVES THE DAY

This is a belated review of a short visit during the afternoon of Monday, April 25th. Just been too busy to write a decent review. Be forwarned...it may come across as whiney but so be it. I always share my experiences - good, bad and in between - if not to share lessons learned then to entertain. Anyway, I flew to Philly early that morning for a business meeting in Northeast Philly that went from 10 am to 1 pm. My flight out of Philly was at 7 pm that night. I had to time my visit to Playhouse just right, including a change of clothes in the rental car, to make my flight on time and still be able to visit this old haunt of mine from when I lived and worked in the area. But first the basics as described many times:

The lounge is a hot pink building with about 50 or more parking spots, parking is never an issue. The dancers and staff park in the rear or to the right side of the building, patrons typically park in the more open area. As you look at the building, to the right is a Honda used car dealership and to the right are three private homes, the boundary of a residential neighborhood. There is a beer/liquor store called Oliver's about 1/3 mile south.

If you are coming in from bright sunlight, eyes take adjusting due to the darkness of the bar but once adjusted it is pretty well lit. The bar is a long rectangle with stools all around; the DJ booth is by the front door, bathrooms on the left side (pretty clean this visit!), dancer dressing room in rear left corner and most of the private rooms are all the way in back. Flat screen TVs with ESPN on the walls. It's a dive but a comfortable one. I've been coming to this building under its various names since I was a local 18 year old...more than 40 years ago.
