No Redeeming Qualities
I visited Christina's at about 9:30 on a Sunday evening. The building is marked well enough although coming from the south I did almost turn into the parking lot of a neighboring business. The lot had enough parking. Fewer than half a dozen patrons. Christina's was unusual in that while I was there two different couples did come in and sit together.
Christina's is blue collar. Very blue collar. You can see the heating system in the corner and the pipes along the ceiling. While all clubs are dimly lit, Christina's is too dimly lit- the dark walls don't help, and while there are several TVs and mirrors, the TVs are small and it creates more of a spooky look than a well lit look because it relies on reflection more than actual light. The decor is biker-themed, I saw skull designs on tables. Because of all this, anything else comes across as tacky instead of helpful. I am referring to the one marquee TV in a corner near the kitchen (somehow tacky even though not placed conspicuously), and the stripper poles themselves are also scrolling marquees (text only) that look hideously out of place with neon green and purple text in an otherwise black-and-white color scheme in a too-dark room.
My bottled water was $5. The stage is a raised platform enclosed by the bar. (Think Fantasies but smaller, wooden, and not as high.) Girls just kind of hang out around the bar until it is their turn to dance. They dance a 2-3 song set and do a tip walk after every song, which is annoying. (Think Exscape, but at Exscape you might run the risk of actually finding an attractive dancer or two.) Also sometimes there is no correlation between when they do the tip walk and when the music is playing. So be prepared to shell out more money for tips and have music playing but nobody dancing. Bottoms must stay on and tips only go in garters.
