No-Fear or Loathing in Inkster

The bar is on the north side of Michigan Avenue just west of Middlebelt road. If you are coming from 94 up Middlebelt, you have to make a "Michigan Left", which means turn right and make a U-turn to get to club. Or you can come up Merriman from and make the Michigan left in front of the Flight Club. Both Middlebelt and Merriman are Governor Whitmer's way of saying to everyone "Welcome To Michigan" by making newcomers drive their rental cars though a minefield of potholes, broken pavement, scattered broken bottles and random bouncing car parts just to escape the airport. Seriously, both these roads are in atrocious condition and will destroy your car. Just so you know.

It is park-your-own-car at Bogie's and there are three ways to go: The front lot to the East of the building was paved at some time and has maybe 12 spots. If you want you car to be visible to your neighbors and wife if they drive by on Michigan Avenue and ogle the pervs, park here. Then there are spots next to the building which are fine, except when it rains you will step into deep puddles of water and oil. There is a big unpaved lot on road on the West side of the building. Finally a back parking lot (paved), which is where the talent and staff are parked I suppose. But I parked there today because I wanted to light a quick bowl outside my car before I went in and its more chill.

I get out of the car and it is a cloudy early spring afternoon. Rain seems to threaten but not fall, it is not warm, but not the bitter cold of a few days ago either. Across the fence is the grey dry long grass field of an abandoned driving range. As I contemplate the relationship of Spring, Inkster and golf, I torch my bowl, and contemplate some more. Then I dump the coals, and completing the tri-contemplation, throw it in my car, blow out the smoke, take a swig of mouthwash, check that I have my keys, close the door, lock the doors (wit da fob), spit out the mouthwash, and begin the walk of shame.
