Probably my last visit … ever!
The management, clientele, and dancers are predominantly African-American. I’m not passing judgment just stating a fact. This place may or may not be your cup of tea.
On this Friday's midnight visit, the parking lot (which is in front of the club in direct view of busy Route 40) was packed. I estimate there were 15-20 cars with one or two parked on the grass in front of the abandoned motel adjacent to the club. There was some “activity” in the parking lot that seemed sketchy but I kept at a distance. Two or three times a car would pull into the lot. After a brief conversation, the car would soon pull out. My impression is they were drug transactions.
Upon entering the surprisingly well-lit club I was informed without a greeting there was a $10 cover charge. No metal detectors or pat-down by the bouncer. After paying I took a seat at the bar and a rather plain-looking barmaid asked if I wanted anything to drink. I ordered cranberry juice (which was basically a plastic cup filled with ice and a splash of juice). It appears the club has done away with the two-drink minimum. Although the lot was full there were several empty seats at the bar and the room wasn’t cramped. It was less busy inside than the parking lot would lead you to believe.
