Reliably fun afternoons
Vivide is heavily reviewed, so I'm not certain I can add too much, but it rounded out my recent Atlanta trip and my experience was slightly different than previous ones, so I figured I'd go ahead and put in another brief review. I visited twice - once Wednesday afternoon and once Friday afternoon. Both times I arrived via ride-share from downtown for about $15. The large parking lot had plenty of spaces. Cover charge was $10 and there was an inconsequential node at a pat down on the way in.
The place remains the same. I walked through the small, unused area upstairs and then went down to the club. It's a large space with a high, multi-story ceiling. It's mostly divided by sections of padded benches laid out in L, U, and square shapes. The benches are covered in plastic, which is torn and peeling away in places. One wall has very large TVs which were on some sports channel. The screens are fairly bright, but I didn't find they illuminated the rest of the club overmuch. There's a bar in the center of the TV wall with around eight high chairs.
For both of my visits the club was busy, but not crowded. There was little hookah usage which, combined with the high ceilings, meant not very much smoke. On both days the music started normally loud and then got very loud later. Waitresses worked the room pretty well, and bartenders were responsive. On Wednesday they had no bottles of water for some reason. A can of Coke was $5. On Friday a bottle of water was, I think, $7. A shot I bought for a dancer was $10.
