Had never been to Buffalo before, but it’s one of those depressing Rust Belt towns where the factories all closed and left abandoned houses and crime in their place. I only mention this because it made it more difficult to choose a club, as nearly all of them have had shootings within the last few months. Including this one. But only late at night. The Tonawanda clubs (Alexander’s, NY Showgirls) are in desolate, industrial parts of the city. Pharaoh’s is more on the countryside surrounded by fields right outside the airport. The location and promise of dancer diversity ultimately made Pharaoh’s my choice.

Arrived shortly after 2pm. No cover. The place is a small square room with red walls. One big stage in the middle. Surrounded by maybe 20 small cafe tables with red chairs. The bar is to the right of the front door. The LD rooms are in the back corner to the right of the stage with a big sign reading “Cleopatra’s Lounge.”

The first girl to approach me was Cassie. 40’s, bleach blonde, fake tan, huge bolt ons, botox cougar type. Zero hips or ass to grab onto so I declined. Glanced around and there were about 8 dancers. Mostly spinners when I like them thicker. 6 white girls, 2 black girls. Have heard of Native American dancers at this club. Shame none of them were working because that’d be a new experience for me.
