Has a certain je nai sais quoi to it

I had wanted to be the first to review Velvet Panther, but it looked closed. Natural follow-on choices were this place and Scarlett's; I decided on a whim to try here since it hasn't been reviewed in 2 years.

From the outside, it looks pretty rough. Industrial area, rundown sign, not much in the way of parking. Security at door gave me a pat-down and waved me in; cover was $10 to get past the curtain. Inside is a little better than the outside, but not by much; definitely feels like a dive and not in any particularly charming way.

Once you get in, to your right is a pool table, in front of that is the bar, to your left is a cigarette machine and in front of it is the path to the area with the couches, chairs and one stage with one pole. To the right of the stage is the door to the VIP area, which I *think* is blocked off by a two-way mirror? I could be wrong; I don't remember being able to see in from the outside, but while I was in there I could definitely see out.
