Keep Driving By

Was heading to my hotel from DFW and saw the sign for Rick's. Pulled off the freeway and found it. It is near the freeway service drive but tucked back into an area with a lot of industrial buildings. The exterior looked nice. Parking was fine. No valet at the time. Music from inside was being piped into the parking lot. Lots of hip-hop playing.

Went inside, paid the $20 cover charge and walked in. The place is cavernous. Main stage was straight ahead, the bar was to the left. Absolutely zero going on at the stage. Nothing. Nobody.

I grabbed a seat at the bar. Waitress was nice enough, but spent $8 on a Stella. All of the activity was around the bar, but there wasn't much. Looked like the manager was at the bar eating chips and salsa, trying to get someone on the mic and trying to get someone on stage. Literally, only one dancer visible.
