Go for a long lunch break on Friday, you'll have a great time.
Businessmen and Gentlemen get treated well. Went to Bourbon Street at midday on a Friday, planning to go there on a long lunch break. Another commenter had suggested there were some delightful ladies around that time, so I went to take a look.
I arrived to find the parking lot pretty full, moreso than I expected. I suspect this was due to a lot of men thinking the same way as myself, as there were no groups inside, just individuals at tables. This made seating surprisingly tight. My impression was that most of them were probably businessmen and regulars, leaning towards older men. I did not see a single lady inside that wasn't working, and the music was mainly rock, country, or alternative. Still, if you're wondering if Bourbon Street midday Friday is a place likely to get you mugged or shanked, I'd say your chances are very low.
The layout is unchanged from prior visits. Entering the front door, you're greeted with a booth for paying your cover, which was empty at midday. Two bouncers stopped me as I made my way in to check ID, and I had to stand there for a few minutes to let my eyes adjust. Going from bright Arizona sunshine to the inside of a cabaret is not easy. Bring sunglasses, seriously.
