Silvers Lounge has been shuttered since the advent of the pandemic regime in the middle of March, 2020. Almost exactly two years later, on St Patrick's Day, March 17, 2022, Silvers will re-open. Hopefully, they will be open fully by Thursday, because one can see tradesmen scurrying around trying to get everything in order for the noon opening. They held a job fair this weekend last, looking to hire bartenders, waitresses, security staff and dancers.
The former owner, Tony, who owned the bar with his late dad since 1984, apparently could not re-open. Fortunately, yours truly saw the unique auto of the owner of the Playhouse in Windsor parked in front of Silvers last year. I talked to the owner of the Playhouse one night recently. He advised that he had indeed purchased Silvers. His plans were to open in February, 2022 but the lockdown kept him shuttered. Now, he planned the mid-March opening.
Although I haven't seen the new interior of new new Silvers, I saw some pictures of the shiny new stage renovations on Facebook.
Silvers had the inimitable Cousens Grill, which cooked up great steaks, burgers, home-cut fries and chicken wings. I hope the new management kept it intact and operating.
Let's hope that Silvers Lounge has a successful re-opening and becomes the beehive of activity it used to be years ago.
