Surprise Ending

Have been itching to make it back to the club since moving back to Michigan a month ago and finally gave into weakness last night. The first decision was: Where?

Jackson area clubs are closest, but I've heard two of them are a waste of time and the other one is fairly low mileage. Battle Creek I've heard has a decent club but I've read mixed reviews on the mileage. Romulus and Inkster are high mileage, but they are just over an hour drive each way. Landing Strip (Romulus) is the cream of the crop, but I'm almost guaranteed to drop $400-$450. I chose Henry VIII. First, I've always wanted to give it a try. Second, Nicole (tuscl contributor) is rumored to work there and had some kind words for me in response to an article I wrote. Third, it seems like a more laid back environment than Landing Strip...less likely to be packed with people, especially on a Thursday.

I got halfway there and thought about turning around. It's been a LONG time since I've been in the game. I'm traveling solo which makes me an easy mark. I'm not in the best of shape. I just kept thinking of all the better things I could do with the $300 in my pocket. But, I kept going.
