Served Its Purpose

By the time I arrived at Breathless on a Thursday afternoon, I was in dire need of a decent strip club experience. Earlier in the week I had visited 4 other area clubs and each one was nothing short of a disaster. I already reviewed two of the other places (AJ's and Satin Dolls), but I'll spare everyone a recap of the other two because it was pretty much just more of the same BS. Breathless is located at the end of an industrial dead-end street in Rahway with ample parking in the adjacent lot and on the street. The huge tent they put up for outdoor service upon re-opening in the summer of 2020 is still intact although it obviously hasn't been utilized in quite some time. I don't know why they still have it up, maybe in case things again take a turn for the worse with the pandemic or because they are simply too lazy to take it down.

When you first enter the building, you see two separate rectangular stages with tons of seats surrounding each stage. The public lap dance room is to the right of the entrance with the private area immediately behind that and separated by a beaded curtain. Individual lap dances are $20 per song and, with one exception, in all the times I have gone and got a dance, the girl was always fair regarding the length of each song. You are almost always guaranteed to get 4-5 minutes to a song and not have to contend with the rip off artists who ask you every 81 seconds if you want to continue. I have yet to sample the private booths, but I believe they begin at $250 and the price may vary depending on who you are dealing with. Based on the relatively high mileage in the public room, I imagine that in most cases pretty much anything goes if you go VIP. Unfortunately, though, if you like variety this isn't the place for you. Just about all of the women are cut from the same cloth - Dominican, Brazilian, Colombian - and petites are hard to come by. Competency with the English language ranges from speaking and understanding it perfectly, only with an accent to barely comprehending "Hello" or "Thank you" and nothing else.

Ordinarily they do not have both stages going during the early afternoon but, on this day, there were 4 girls dancing on Stage 1 and another 3 on stage 2 when I arrived. I immediately saw someone who caught my eye - a very attractive, Colombian blonde named Alejandra so, when she came over to claim her rightful tip, I requested and immediately received a set of dances unlike what had occurred at the other clubs I had visited previously. She gave a good grind, was very fair about the time, and spoke excellent English although the mileage was a notch lower than what you might get from some of the less physically appealing dancers.
