sinclair's Review
I went to Frank Days on a Friday night at about 22:00. The place was packed because it was during pheasant season. The building can be split up into three main areas: the bar room, the dining room known as Rumors, and a nude strip club in the back room. Rumors is strictly for dining. Nude stage shows and private dances take place in the strip club area. The actual strip club room with the stage is pretty small, so most of the action (drinking and talking to dancers) takes place in the main bar. There is a $15 cover charge to access the back room. I think if you come before 19:00, it is reduced to $5. They put a blacklight stamp on your wrist because you will be going back and forth between the strip club room and the main room. The ATM has a maximum withdrawal of $700 and charges a $30 fee per transaction.
Sixteen ounce aluminum bottles of Budweiser were $7. A twelve ounce can of Dr. Pepper was $2. I have been to Frank Days several times outside of hunting season when the strip club part was closed. The sixteen ounce aluminum bottles of Budweiser were only $4, so they must raise the prices for hunting season. The music in the bar area is off of a TouchTunes jukebox. The back room’s music is played by a DJ. Smoking is only allowed outside or in an outdoor smoking room with video slot machines. It was impossible to move around without bumping into people. With how body-to-body crowded it got, how drunk the patrons got, and how clan-like some of the hunting groups were, I was surprised there wasn’t a brawl or shoot-out in the gravel parking lot.
Dancers get completely nude on stage and customers can touch the dancers. There was a wide variety of body types and ethnicities. Girls come in from all over the United States and world to work pheasant season. I saw one white dancer about 21 to 24 years old that was the first perfect 10 I’ve seen in a strip club in three years. Most of the female entertainment wore Daisy Dukes and tied off flannel shirts while not on stage, so I am thinking Frank Day’s told them to dress that way. In past seasons, there have even been pornstars who have worked at Frank Day’s. I bumped into a mid-to-late 40’s Eastern European woman with a black guy of a similar age. They looked completely out of place and were not hunters. I think they were some kind of handlers that brought in Eastern European dancers to work in South Dakota. Frank Day’s provides housing for dancers in recreational vehicles and trailers. Dancers that make bank generally will return year after year.
