Educated by a TMC dancer
I still remember my first visit to TMC back ‘95 and I was absolutely blown away by the experience. Gorgeous club, amazing food and drinks, and absolutely stunning women. I was in the club one evening recently reminiscing with one of the dancers and telling her what the club used to be like before she was born. From all appearances, the club this night was almost empty and I think two tables were occupied. I was the only one sitting at the bar and the only ones in the vip were the waitresses. As I was telling this young lady how wonderful the club used to be when I was her age, she began to tell me that times have changed and the club makes more money today than at any other time. I decided to engage with this lovely lady and listen to her wisdom. She explained to me that while the club looked empty, the red room was actually full of customers. She explained that even though the bar had no one sitting around, that the bartenders didn’t care because they were getting tipped out on the champagne being sold. She further explained that the days of the $20 lap dance at TMC are over and girls only do a few dances to get men to buy a bottle and go into the red room. She explained that if she gets occupied doing dances that she could miss an opportunity to do an hour in the red room with another customer. I continued to listened as she explained the business model of this club and how the club didn’t make money on food and the girls didn’t make money doing dances. As she explained, she only needs to find one customer a night willing to spend $1000 for an hour of fun with her in the red room. Everyone, including the managers and waitresses, all make more money for getting customers in the red room. As we were talking, she did her best to get me into the red room with her and dropped her price from $1000 to $800 to $500 by the time I left. It then dawned on me why TMC is nothing what it used to be. Apparently they have all determined that there is more money to be made offering extras in their red room than there is offering a deal on their kick ass filet and $20 dances. I started trying to crunch the numbers and there is no way this is better for the owner and he has to be making much less money. Have his managers convinced him that times have changed and there is no longer a demand for a high-end gentleman’s club?
