Spyce up

I was in the area, so decided to swing by Spyce on a recent Friday night. The location is in the middle of the homeless population downtown. There is no parking lot, so you have to find somewhere on the street to park or a nearby paid parking lot. Cover varies by the day. I believe on Friday and Saturday nights it’s 10 bucks, and 5 bucks on the weeknights. I know Spyce is not open on Mondays, I think it’s closed on Tuesdays as well but not 100% sure.

When you walk in, the main stage is in front of you. If you walk down, the side stage is on the left. The main bar is straight ahead. Spyce has 2 floors. They generally only open the 2nd floor on Friday and Saturday nights when it’s busy. On the 2nd floor, there is another stage, another bar, and a lapdance area. On the 1st floor, there is another stage by another lapdance area. In total there are 4 stages. The 1st floor is not huge, so when it gets crowded, you really feel it. There is limited seating. There is an ATM, but beware it’s like a $10 withdrawal fee.

Drink prices are little bit more expensive than the dive bars in Portland. A rum and coke was like $8. As far as customers, it was a younger crowd (20’s) with some older guys sprinkled in. The stage show is topless, the girls do have the option to go nude on stage if they want, but 99% of them just go topless. Music is mainly hip hop/ R&B. On Fridays and Saturdays there is an bathroom troll. He doesn’t pour soap in your hands, or turn on the water. He just hands you a paper towel and expects a tip for you lol.
