Decent Girls, Overpriced Dances

In Charlotte for business, so I made arrangements to meet a local TUSCLer at the Gold Club at 2:30 p.m. We both pulled into the park lot at the same time and went inside. There was no doorman/door girl, but a sign said to check in with the bartender.

I consider this a fairly nice, mid-tier club. Not a dive, but not super upscale either. There is a large main stage to the right as you walk in and a smaller satellite stage closer to the door. Neither was in use at 2:30. The “VIP” area is upstairs, but it is just a loft area with couches scattered around. There are no private VIPs. There is a supposedly more exclusive “Executive Lounge” area but it is just a small section separated from the rest by a low rail. It is next to the loft stairs, so it looks like it actually has less privacy, as people would be walking by it regularly going up or down the stairs.

On the short walk to the bar at the back of the club, we were joined by one of my local contact’s favorites. The bartender did not ask for a cover. I’m not sure of the exact cost of the drinks, but they are reasonable. A round of three mixed drinks was about $27. Unfortunately, my friend could not stay long. We had drink, chatted for a bit, and he departed. I spent the next couple of hours sampling dancers from several of the girls.
