Sugars Flops on a Thursday Night

I visited Sugars around 10:45pm on a Thursday night (Nov 18). I stayed for 30 minutes before heading to Pandoras; and it was a very grim 30 minutes indeed.

I’m new to Seattle and this was my fourth club experience here (see reviews for DG Sodo; Kittens; Pandoras). Late on a Thursday, Sugars was a quick 14-minute drive from my apartment in Cap Hill. The club is easy to find on Aurora. A dancer from another club later explained that Aurora has some rough pockets; she’s AA and she labeled Sugars as “a black club.” My experience didn’t really confirm her view.

1. First Impressions. At 10:45pm on Thursday, the club was … very much dead. A handful of dancers (more below); two other customers during my time there. The club is on the dumpy side of dive. There was plenty of seating given the number of customers.
