First visit since pandemic began

This was my first visit to Kalamazoo since the pandemic began. I previously had business in Kalamazoo 4 to 5 times a year, so I have visited DejaVu several times over the years. The first thing I noticed was that the stage had been reconfigured. Now it's a heart-shaped stage with seating surrounding the stage. Probably twice as many "ringside" seats as previously. They also have a couple satellite stages which they were using on the Friday night I was there.

The crowd was 80% college aged guys who looked to be having a bachelor party. They were having fun and were not behaving like assholes -- which can happen sometimes. The place was pretty crowded until the college guys left about 1:30 a.m., then it kinda took the air out of the place. I left shortly after the college guys left.

There were LOTS of dancers working the night I was there -- at least 20 girls. There were all sizes and shapes and a mix of races. They seem to always have a good variety of dancers at the club on the night shift. It seems like several girls showed up after 11:00 p.m. I found most of the girls made an effort to at least say hello and ask if you wanted a dance. There were a few dancers who hung-out along the upper rail and didn't socialize much, I suspect those are the dancers who don't make much money and won't work as a dancer for long.
