Changes at Deja Vu's Crazy Horse
Had not been to my home club for months. Was surprised when I approached at 6:20 PM, twenty minutes after the daily scheduled opening, and could see the gate locked across the theater's entrance. One of the long time employees came out and told me there were no dancers, that they will come later. Been patronizing Crazy Horse for over a decade but never encountered that. Went to a nearby bar and called the club at 7:30 PM and was told two dancers showed up. Fine I'll go back.
They have changed the configuration replacing many theater seats on the right side as you enter with swivel chairs and small tables. About six rows of four chairs across. Now they have love seats in a VIP area on the left where they lowered the wall. The lap room and private areas have not changed. The stage show was darker without spotlights on the dancer for much of the time. So many clubs use blue and red lighting on the dancers. I've never understood that and if a reader can explain that I'd appreciate it. Blue and red lighting isn't flattering for anyone.
I generally avoid Deja Vu clubs anywhere there are options, and Crazy Horse used to boast that they were one of the few clubs in San Francisco not run by Deja Vu. As reported by other reviews, dance prices have gone up from $20 to $40 ($60 topless) for a standard lap dance and private dances are $140. I enjoyed dances with dancers I'd known for years and they gave me the benefit of $20/$100 grandfathered rates.
