No More Norm

I stopped into Bourbon Street on a recent Friday afternoon. I arrived around 3:00. No cover charge, they are still doing the temp checks and sanitizer squirt at the door.

There was plenty of seating available so I grabbed a spot at a table near the seldom used shower stage. I noticed the old guy with the beard who sat at the corner table by the bar daily for hours on end, for years on end, hadn’t been into the club in awhile. He was always scribbling notes on the napkins so I always wondered if he contributed to TUSCL. Anyways, according to a couple of dancers he has passed away and it was pretty sudden. Covid perhaps, although it could have been anything as he wasn’t the picture of health. So you won’t be seeing the Norm (think Cheers) of Bourbon Street hanging out there anymore.

I digress, draft beer runs $3 for a Bud Light during the daytime. Bottle water is $5. Wait staff is attentive and efficient.
