I went to Vixens Cabaret at 23:30 on a Monday night. Vixens is an industrial area three miles north of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Free self parking is available, but a significant part of the parking lot is dedicated to valet parking. The doorman scans your driver's license in a machine. There was a $10 cover charge. The inside is huge, maybe 12,000 square feet, but a lot of the real estate is dedicated to booths and VIP areas for the bottle service crowd. Sincweisers were $7 per twelve ounce bottle. I bought a dancer a mixed drink with vodka and juice, and it was $9. One of the waitresses gave me a bitchface when I gave her my usual $1 tip for a beer. I realized throughout my stay that Vixens is as much of a nightclub as it is a gentlemen’s club. These very same servers are used to parading out to a booth with sparklers and a top shelf bottle to make $100 tips. The club also has a kitchen with food options mostly between $10 and $20.

There were nineteen dancers working on Monday night. There were four dancers on stage at all times while I was at Vixens. Two dancers were on the rectangular island main stage, and then there were two other dancers working on satellite stages, one to the right of the room and one to the left of the room. As expected, there were Cuban dancers, but this club had the most ethnic diversity out of all the clubs I have visited in the Miami metropolitan area. There were a handful of Caucasian dancers, a Bahamian, a Jamaican, an Asian, an Israeli, and various non-Cuban Hispanic dancers. When I arrived at 23:30, there were more dancers than customers, but by the time I left at 02:00, the customer to dancer ratio was 2:1.

Not counting the Cubans, the hustle factor was much lower than at other clubs. I drank and chatted with a few dancers before going back for lap dances. I spent time with a Caucasian dancer named Blake. She had dirty blonde hair and pierced B cups. Next, I was accosted by the pushy Jackie. She was a thirty-something Joanna Angel wannabe with both arms covered in tattoos. I shooed her off to spend time with a 23 year old Jamaican with nice B cups. The dancers that work here seem to like that they are not in an environment where they are pressured to have sex with customers like in other South Florida clubs. As a result, many dancers are more laid back and content to just make money on stage tips and private dances.
