Oh, So THAT’S Why It Was Crowded!

I visited Gatsby’s North on a Friday night from 9:00-9:45. Free parking in a paved lot, no cover. Bottled water was $2.00 at the bar. For all you not-enough-details freaks: The men’s room was surprisingly small for a club this size; one urinal, one toilet, and one sink. They at least had hot water, soap, and paper towels. No bathroom troll.

This is a good-sized club, with a large, octagonal bar in the middle, lots of low tables and wheeled chairs (with arms that make dances awkward), and maybe a dozen high-top tables with high stools around the perimeter. There is one good-sized stage with a pole. It’s a nicely-appointed club that easily outshines all the dive bars in Akron.

I was kind of surprised how busy it was. Dozens of customers, most who looked college-age, but some older gents and a few female customers as well. It was almost packed, though I had no trouble finding a seat at the bar.
