Laid-Back Place for Dances
Visited Friday afternoon, 4:00-5:30. Free parking, no cover. Note that the front door is locked, and patrons get buzzed in. Bottled water was a whopping $11.00 at the bar. The saving grace of that was that when I tipped the bartender, she insisted I place my dollar tip between her ample bared breasts.
Bottoms Up is a small, old, neighborhood dive, with eight seats at the bar and little other seating, though they seem to have an outdoor patio, which I didn’t see with my own eyes; from the parking lot, it’s surrounded by a wooden fence. Right across from the bar, almost an arm’s reach from my barstool, was an odd, small-ish, run-down stage with three different levels and three poles.
At this hour, there were only three customers and about six girls working, one black and the rest white. Some were a little older. The black girl was the only one I saw on stage (for one song). It was a very laid-back atmosphere. All of the girls approached me at the bar for dances – including the bartender – and I said yes to all of them.
