Post Covid, the third time is not a charm
Saturday night was my third visit to Victoria's Cabaret post Covid shutdoown with all three visits in the last month and a half. This club is less than ten minutes from where I've lived for six years and I've been here a few times with the most recent being August, 2018 when I favorably reviewed the club after my car broke down in the area. I keep wanting this place to be my local favorite but...
On my first post Covid visit this past summer, I went in the afternoon to find no dancers and only a manager and bartender in the place. The good part of that brief visit was that I saw the entire club had been renovated and done very well. The previously shabby looking place (known as PT's Showbar I recall) now had all new decor. There are tasteful and comfortable tables and chairs, several big screen TVs behind the bar and decent lighting. All they needed was dancers and customers. While the manager told me he expected dancers "later", I left, deciding to withold any review until at least a second post Covid visit. A couple of weeks later I returned (also in the afternoon) to find one somewhat overweight and totally disinterested dancer along with the bartender and same manager. The manager said that the club had been bought by a company that owns other clubs in the area and was planning to make Victoria's more popular and lively. With little to report, I decided to return on a Saturday night to see if there was more action. Several weeks later, I decided to check out Saturday night in Victoria's. I arrived around 11PM and stayed until after 1AM.
The club is not large. After the entryway, you enter to a good size room with the bar on your right and a large stage on the left. There are tables scattered throughout with private dances in a small area in the back and a separate VIP section. The cover fee was $5.00 but it was waived when I showed my retired military ID. I entered to see two cute women sitting at the end of the bar but I soon realized they were waitresses, not dancers. On stage was a large AA dancer and there were two other customers. I had been hoping for "third time's a charm" so this was somewhat disappointing. With the manager's assurance that more dancers were on the way, I bought my usual bottle of water, $5, and decided to wait. Within 10 minutes, two nice looking spinners, one white and one AA, walked in so I stayed longer. Sooner thereafter four other dancers, all AA and all large, came in.
I chatted with one of the spinners (white girl) and bought her a drink (Petron and Red Bull, $19.00). She told me that she and the other spinner had driven down from Charleston, South Carolina in hopes of making some good Miami money. I wished her luck and asked how they wound up in Victoria's. She said they had worked a late night at Cheetah's Hallandale and found it to be "full of pimps"; Tootsie's said they needed social security cards to work and they danced at Wet which was okay. She said the manager at Victoria's said it was a great late night place. I got a table dance from her and the other spinner but both were uninspiring. The AA spinner told me that putting my hands on her breasts wasn't allowed in Charleston.
Neither of them asked me to do a private and both moved on to another table where three customers had just come in. One of the large AA dancers sat down and almost immediately offered me FS in the private dance area for $300 minimum. I declined.
