It has been about three weeks since I have been to a strip club and I was starting to get the strip club shakes. I decided to get my fix at ol’ reliable, Shimmers. For those of us in the Portland area that visit these SE clubs and don’t want to read all the boring details, just skip to the last couple of paragraphs on Delilah for the meat and potatoes of this review.

I pulled into the fairly discrete parking lot at Shimmers around 3:30 PM last Sunday. Their lot was busy, but because there are adjoining businesses to the lot, plenty of parking on this quiet Sunday. I said hi to a dancer that was in their covered patio, which is oddly constructed on the side of their building and have to walk through part of the parking lot to get to it. No “mask required” sign on the outside of the entrance (this is mandated indoors currently in Oregon). Walking in, no bouncer, no id check, no cover and I did not put on a mask. Scooping the place out, a couple of guys sitting at the scattered tables, one guy on the video machines, no one at the rack with a dancer looking at her phone, and the bar was packed with patrons and dancers. Again, not a mask in sight, dancers, employees or patrons. I took a glance at the board and it was full of dancer names, which I counted nine. I recognized a few of them, but the one that caught my eye was Delilah. I was hoping this was the same Delilah I wrote about months ago and hadn’t seen her here since. I will get back to her later.

There was one seat open at the bar which I grabbed. A bunch of dancers behind several guys along the backside of this U shaped counter downing shots the guys must have been buying for them. I sat there for at least 10 minutes before I got to order my $3 coke and probably was another 5 minutes before I actually got it. I asked for ones back, and the bartender gave me a 10 and 7 ones back. Reluctantly, I left a dollar tip and headed to the rack. I like to sit at the far end of the rack by the lap dance booths since it just has one seat and the air conditioning doesn’t seem to blow on you as much. Also, the stairs to the rack are right there.
