I stopped by Club Body Girl at 12:30 on a Tuesday afternoon. The club is located in the ‘vieux carre’ of Berthierville. Parking is free in diagonal spaces downtown. The entrance is the door all the way to the left on the front of the building. Once inside, you walk up a flight of steps to the second floor. There was no cover charge in the afternoon, but there is a $5 cover charge in the evening. There is a bar with twelve stools on the right wall. There is a DJ booth and a single pole stage along the left wall. The VIP rooms are on the front wall of the room, hooked around to the right from where you enter. Curtains covering their doorways ensure privacy from the main room. The back of the club has five video slot machines and the washrooms. The bar only carries beers distributed by Molson Coors, so I drank bottles of Coors Light for $8.50 each. Budweiser and Labatt products are not served here. From 17:00 to 19:00 every day there is a Happy Hour where you get two drinks for the price of one.

There were two Caucasian dancers working during my visit. Both were carrying extra pounds and appeared to have previously procreated. Par for Quebec, they were plastered in tattoos. The only distinguishing differences were one was a brunette with blue eyes and glasses and one had black hair and brown eyes. Neither dancer took the stage, which confirmed my hunch this is a club where you go to get serviced rather than enjoy pole dancing and lap dances. Since I had no interest in either entertainer, I did not inquire on the price of sextras. The best looking female in the club was the sexy black bartender. I surmised she was either Haitian, Martinican, or Guadeloupean. Everyone at this club speaks French, so you will have trouble communicating if you only know English. I speak French and was still having trouble with the loud music and local slang.

With regards to the pandemic, Club Body Girl finally was able to reopen in June 2021. Patrons are supposed to wear masks when moving through the club and can only remove them when seated. Starting on September 11th, all customers will have to have a vaccine passport to enter the club per government health regulations. I hit Club Body Girl on a slow day shift, so I can’t really pass hard judgment. Next time I am in town, I will visit during the night shift when there are hopefully more and better looking entertainers working. The club is open seven days a week, starting at noon.
