I went to Deja Vu Saginaw around 20:30 on a Saturday. There was a $20 cover charge at the door. The club does not serve alcohol, but your cover charge includes unlimited refills of soda, juice, and water. If you want a nonalcoholic beer or a Red Bull, there is an additional charge. You are given a wristband for in and out privileges throughout the night. I actually left, went to the liquor store about a block away, and snuck alcohol back into the club. The parking lot is almost like a tailgate at times with guys running out to their pickup trucks to chug beers. The club has four stages: the first floor has three stages and the second floor has one stage. One of the side stage poles doubles as a fireman’s pole for dancers to slide down from the second floor to the ground floor. Songs are clipped short and the DJ constantly makes corny jokes.

There were twenty-nine dancers working at peak time on Saturday night. Most dancers were 7’s or higher on my scale. All dancers were required to get nude on stage, which I enjoyed. Stage tipping generally yielded boobs to the face or a gyno close-up. About once every hour, there was a showcase where every dancer had to walk across the stage and then go out into the mass of barrel chairs for a promotion: dollar dances, two for the price of one lap dances, or lap dances bundled with some kind of gift like a t-shirt or a koozie.

Private dances in booths on the ground floor are $20 per song. You feed money into a bill receptor. A light goes green to start, and then you stop when the light goes red. Private dances are less than three minutes long. Upstairs there are VIP suites. These are more spacious than the booths downstairs. You get an actual couch and a table to set your drink and keys on. Sessions lasting fifteen minutes are $75. Sessions lasting thirty minutes are $150. Sessions lasting sixty minutes are $300. If you find a dancer you like doing lap dances with, the VIP rooms work out to be cheaper than buying individual $20 dances. There are also bed VIP suites that look like a bedroom, where dancers grind on you while you lie on a bed. The bed VIP suites are $100 for fifteen minutes, $200 for thirty minutes, and $400 for sixty minutes. All private dance booths and VIP rooms in the club are monitored by closed-circuit cameras. Even the main floor has cameras. You will not get anything remotely close to extras at Deja Vu. The maximum contact you can get is feeling up a dancer’s body, including her boobs, but I’m not sure every dancer will provide full two-way contact. I did a fifteen minute VIP with Opal, which was a good value for $75.
