Pick your night carefully

I picked a bad night to try the Kit Kat club in Portland. It was a Tuesday evening about 10:00pm. I had gone to Voodoo Donughts, which is next door (OT if you get there near closing time like that, they start handing out free extra donughts). When the door guy asked for the cover ($2), he first warned/alerted me that Tuesday was "all gender / all body" ni

ght. I hesitated, but I was already there and $2 wasn't much to risk to see the spectacle.

The inside felt very much like a bar rather than a club. The tables and chairs were wooden. The stage was a small affai

r more like what you'd see a band playing on in a bar, though it did have a pole. There was a scattering of patrons, and a table of guys playing poker (apparently a nightly occurance, with a $40-ish buy in). The atmosphere was more like a community burlesque show than a traditional strip club, which was friendly enough.
