Day shift disappointment

I had been to Subi's once before, about two years ago. It had been an evening visit and I enjoyed my time there, so I thought I'd try an afternoon visit.

I pulled into the tiny lot a little after 3:00 and gave the valet my keys so he could park my car in a space twelve feet away. Seems like a waste of $6, but whatever. I walked in the door and was pleased to find that there's no cover during the day. I asked how much for a booth, and the guy said during the day there's no charge to sit anywhere, though I do remember being charged $20 during my evening visit years ago. The stage is to the right when you walk in, and the bar is to the left. The club is dark enough that my eyes took some adjusting after being in the afternoon sunlight.

I sat in a booth and looked around, surprised to find that there were seemed to be only three dancers working and maybe five patrons besides myself. The absolutely gorgeous bartender came around and got me a bottle of water for $7 and I settled in, hoping more girls would wander in from the dressing room. No such luck.
