Not Very Special
This is the first review since last fall!
1. Setting: Situated at the junction of Highways N and V in North Bristol (outside of Sun Prairie), this is one of the smallest and darkest clubs I've visited. It's a bit of a hike to get here, even from Madison. New hours: Open noon to 1:30 am daily except holidays.
At the door, I passed through a metal detector. It's dark! The walls and ceiling are entirely black, with mirrors on some walls. Ceiling is low. Music is moderately loud and consists of classic oldies rock. There are two stages, one near the door and one further away, both with one pole and some chairs arranged around the stage. There is a long black bar with barstools placed along it and a woman bartender, liquor, and TV behind the bar. To the right of the bar, a partition separates the entrance to the private dance area (although I could see some tops of heads over the top of the partition). A few gambling or slot machines and an ATM are present. The bathroom is adequate but has no door on the john stall. In the corner are a few stuffed chairs. There is a door labeled "Smoking room" which leads to a cinderblock wall small sheltered area--nobody was present there when I checked. On the wall is a sign, "Soliciting is illegal- you will be fired on the spot."
I was told that stage dancing is very seldom done in the afternoon, and only if there are a whole lot of customers. 10 customers present today was judged NOT enough of an audience for it to occur today. It's mainly done at night.
