sinclair's Review
I went to Showgirl 1 at 22:40 on a Saturday night. There was a $5 cover paid to a 400-pound Indiana porker manning the door. The club was packed, almost standing room only, and no one wore masks inside. Sincweisers were $5 and Jager Bombs were $6. The club is a giant room with a four-pole island stage in the middle. The bar is on the left wall. The private dance area, which is essentially a communal room not in the sightlines of the rest of the club, is on the far right wall. The entire floor is filled with small tables with lamps on them, surrounded by barrel chairs.
There were twelve dancers working. I would say most tended to be in their 20’s, tattooed, and with natural breasts. Two dancers would work the stage at a time. The DJ played a good mix of different genres, but he was hard to understand on the PA system. Stage contact was mainly boobs to the face. Once every hour or so, all dancers would get called on stage for a showcase of sorts. Most dancers will circulate the room offering dollar dances when free. These are mini lap dances at your table that last about twenty seconds. Lap dances are $20 per song and are one way contact. I could put my hands on the dancer’s hips, but if I roamed anywhere else, my hands would be grabbed and pulled away. The way I see it, Showgirls 1 has some of the better looking dancers in Fort Wayne, but you can’t push the envelope at this club like you could at the clubs with less discriminating hiring criteria.
