Not bad, though perhaps not as good as I'd hoped

It's been a long time since I've been to a club. I would not have predicted that my first trip post-covid would be to a place in the middle of nowhere Wisconsin, but with vaccination completed and an opportunity, I gave it a chance. The Boxxx Office is a few miles off the interstate, with nothing else nearby. It was easy to get to and had a good parking lot. I arrived around 2pm on a Friday. I didn't have much in the way of expectations, but the previous review gave me some hope of some fun interactions.

I wore a mask in, but no one inside was wearing one (or even had one that I could see), including bartender, patrons, and dancers. The entry had a metal detector, but no one staffing the door, so there was no temp or ID check, and no cover charge. It was dim inside, particularly compared to the bright afternoon, so it took a moment to be able to see. It wasn't as dark as the late Follies, though.

It's a medium-sized club, set up in a rectangle with a bar along most of the long wall opposite the entry. There were some high-top tables near the bar, and a few four-top tables to the left. Left and back of the entry is a stage with two poles and some seats around it, along with another very small seating area behind. As far as I could tell, the seating was unaffected by covid, with chairs at the stage and no particularly wide spacing. The floor was heavily worn industrial carpet, but everything else was in pretty good shape; definitely not a dive.
