I tried something different
I arrived at Golddiggers at 8:40 after a stop at Rickey's, which for some unknown reason was closed tonight (gate padlocked shut). I hadn't been to Golddiggers since well before COVID.
The neighborhood of Hopkins/Hampton is well-known to be not very safe and this has to be a major deterrent to most PLs coming here: you have to be a bit adventurous! I did, at least, see a reasonable police presence in the area. There is no parking lot, but you can find parking on nearby side streets within 3 blocks.
Upon arrival I was asked to produce state ID, patted down, and paid the $10 entry fee. A beer was $5. The lighting is medium intensity, and there are strobe lights going constantly. The music is urban/rap (e.g. Whistle While You Twerk) and is rather loud (I had 1 or 2 earplugs in most of the while. I'm careful about that.).
I'm pretty sure this is THE smallest sized club in Milwaukee. As you enter, the bar is to your left (with a woman bartender) and 2 TVs behind it; the stage is to the right, and there is a pool table toward the back. Rest room with 1 urinal, 1 toilet, is toward the back on the left. The stage had two poles, a mirror behind it, surrounded by a semicircle counter, which gets used a lot by the dancers: they kneel on it or lie on their backs on the counter. Chairs are set around the stage, and also there are 2 tables. Two dancers were even dancing on each other on the counter. Notably, there is NO secluded room or booth to get a private dance, and this may be a drawback for some PLs if that is on your agenda.
Dancers did not wear masks. Some customers did, on-and-off.
