First visit to Larry's since the Covid times
Since I was on my first work trip to St. Louis in over a year, I figured I'd toss on a mask and see how the local SC scene was holding up. I was a little worried when I arrived, as there were large tent structures taking up a quarter of the parking lot, but I was relieved to find that these were a temporary means to allow the show to go on, and that all drinking and dancing was now back inside the proper walls of the club. Upon entering, everyone's temperature was checked before getting directed to the box office to pay admission.
Tuesdays at Larry's feature $2 you-call-it drinks, and the cover bumps up to $20 to make up some of the difference. Shot-and-mixer drinks seemed a little weak (but hey, two bucks), but you can't miss with longnecks. You enter the club about 2/3 back from the main stage, right at the island bar. Plastic sheeting was suspended from the ceiling down to about a foot off the bar top as a Covid precaution. All four sides of the bar were open for service, with stools spaced about as they always have been. Behind the bar there's a miniature stage/cage, with an aerial hoop, which was also draped with plastic sheeting (save for the bottom foot so you could still shove some dollars inside). Fortunately, the main stage was unobstructed, with seating along the three sides that extend from the far wall into the room. People did not seem nearly as eager to be seated around the stage as compared to several prior pre-Covid visits. The indoor smokers' lounge on the wall opposite the main entrance was kept closed off. The door to a somewhat run-down bathroom is located off to the side of the main stage, and I was surprised to find myself grateful for the first time in my life for a strip club bathroom attendant (not touching unnecessary surfaces is a relief in these Covid times).
As for the rest of the scenery, it seemed that the ladies were as good looking as I could recall. Either that, or my standards have slipped over the last 12 months, but everything is subjective, right? I came with a little extra cash to burn compared to a normal visit, which it turned out to be a good thing since private dance prices have risen $10, now posted at $30 per couch dance and $40 per bed dance. The ladies keep their face masks on while dancing on stage or in the private rooms, though they would take them off when drinking on the floor. Here's a rundown of the four ladies I took for multi-song dance sets:
