No place for a middle aged white guy ???

I went the Saturday evening prior to the Daytona 500. I don’t know the club well enough to know whether that affected their attendance or not. In fact it’s really been a while since I’ve been to Daytona so I’m a bit out of touch with the area and the makeup of the clubs. But in the past this was usually a reliable spot for extras depending on the dancer, the mgr and your luck.

First off, an AA guy greeted me at the entrance to the lot asking $10 to park and for implied “parking lot security”. I wound up paying him and not arguing although this is new to me for this location. I neglected to inquire at the front desk/counter whether the lot guy was legit or not as I didn’t feel like pissing off the locals! Entry fee was also $10 which may have been negotiable down based on a semi-local ID but again I didn’t argue.

Once inside it was very lively with a mostly younger crowd. As a middle aged white guy I probably stood out compared to the crowd. Lots of girls circulating and making their rounds to groups of men making it rain singles on them. The making it rain has never been my thing. Seems like a useless waste of money. I’m happy to tip a girl on stage or at the bar but don’t really like to draw that much attention to myself. Generally speaking as a “minority” in the club and not being a “make it rain” guy I didn’t get much time or attention from the dancers so it was mostly a night to scout out the club fo future visits as I live within an hour of here.
