All-new Allure *at Babes is more of the same
Babes has renamed itself as Allure *at Babes. It has remodeled both inside and outside. The parking spots have not changed; if anything there are fewer now that there is reserved valet spots and a rope line.
The inside has the same basic layout, but is otherwise all-new. The foyer has the register for cover and frisking. It is brighter inside, it used be so dark you would need to pause for a minute so that your eyes could adjust. The bar is still L-shaped along the side wall to the right of the door to the back. Bathrooms are the same place, but I did not use them. The stage is the same large oval occupying about half the floor space with a pole at each end. Gone is the second smaller stage that doubled as a tabletop. They still have the overstuffed chairs arranged in an L on the back corner of the club, but the chairs and tables are new. The lap dance section is in the same place, but is now walled-in, behind a curtained doorway, and with new furniture. The inside is all new decoration, in a French Bordello or French Quarter of New Orleans style. It was more crowded by the furniture, and the small tabletop had been my favorite place to sit, shoot the shit with other SC hounds, and tip singles. I was left to stand the entire time, rather than sit with one of the unattractive women I did not want to talk to.
No cover when I arrived around 5PM, the register was not even attended. There were no masks anywhere, no tamp check, and no frisking. The bar was packed with patrons and dancers, but I was able to squeeze in and get a domestic bottled beer for $4. The bartenders are new, a tad faster than they used to be, but not attractive.
