Fun in spite of COVID
I arrived at Penthouse about 4:45 pm, about 3/4 hour after opening. Stopped at the front door, got my COVID temperature scan, paid my $10 parking fee and was ushered into the inner sanctum. No cover was charged at the time I entered, and I took a seat at the bar, right adjacent to the stage. Since I was the very first customer to enter, finding a place to sit wasn't a problem!
A quick word about the club arrangement. The lower floor bar is located in the center of the club. A semicircular stage about 15 feet in diameter is at one end of the bar and is served by a staircase from the dressing room on the second floor. There is a champagne room on this floor to the right side of the bar, but it is not operating at this time. To the left are two separate lap dance rooms, the first for basic lap dances (bikini, $30/dance) and the second, (topless, one-way, 4 for $160). All of the operating champagne rooms are on the second floor, arranged across the front of the building, all connected by a hallway. A host/bouncer takes your money at a station at the entry to the hallway. All the rooms have solid doors. The rooms each have a sofa, an ottoman, a table, and a camera. The camera didn't seem to be much of an impediment. There are a few seating pods and a second floor bar (not operating this night).
I ordered a cider and nachos with steak - a total of $19 plus a $4 tip to the very hot bartender. The nachos were very generous and very good. In the current environment, you have to order at least one drink and one food item so they can qualify as a restaurant. Separation is maintained by tables with seating for three placed against the bar at appropriate distancing intervals.
