Funky COVID solution
I've stopped in here a couple of times recently since the COVID restrictions were lifted somewhat.
Some clubs (e.g. Scarlet Lounge, Riverside Corral) don't allow sitting at the stage. Some clubs (e.g. Shimmers, Tommy's Too) do allow sitting at the stage just like pre-COVID. This club has found a middle ground, albeit a little funky. They have hung plexiglass sheets from the ceiling on the long sides of the stage. There's a couple of chairs on each side so you can stay spaced from each other (not that it's ever much of a problem in this club) and the dancers can still get up close to you. There's a few inches below the plexiglass for you to place your tips or just shove them onto the stage.
Other that that, things seem to be about the same as pre-COVID. Most of the customers hang out to play slot machines or play pool rather than pay much attention to the dancers. Dancer quality (the lower end of the Portland scale for appearance though they tend to be quite friendly) and variation (high) is the same. Private dances are the same but with masks; On the plus side, the curtains seem a little more opaque though it's still the 5 foot high side barriers. Dances seem to still be about $25 a song give or take and are at the high end of the "legal" scale.
