Club RIsque is worth the risk.
This is my first visit here since CV. I read the earlier review so I had an idea what to expect. Entered wearing my mask, (I remember when that would have got you shot in some bars!) Greeted at the door by a manager, took my temp and explained the rules. Mask on unless at your table. Ok, the lay out is definitely different that the good old days. no sitting at the bar, there are a number of high top tables. I was told to find a table with out any drinks or food on top and the waitress would be around. Got seated, definitely hard to see the on stage action from 12 feet away! So Manager comes back around to bring me my hot dog and chips, apparently part of the deal to open is you have to serve food with the drinks, can't just drink or have a bag of pretzels. Waitress took my order, arrived in decent time. $6 for a beer, $2 for the hotdog. That about covers the club.
Now for the entertainment. The girls get on stage for a couple songs, some got topless, not all, then they circulate for tips and to see if you'd like dance. Several seemed especially friendly with certain patrons and tended to basically just about ignore everyone else. A couple others stopped by to get their dollars, but pretty much at arms length. Finally just as I was about to leave a very nice looking, articulate blonde came around. She had actually been out earlier but didn't make it over to my table. She actually apologized as I was in a back corner and it is kind of not well lit there. Anyway, we chatted a bit, I gave her a couple bucks we hugged, very very nice. sadly by this time my time was up as I had places to be and had to leave. I am going to return and I can only hope she'll be there so i can get the dance I wanted this time next time!
Guys, it isn't what it was, it is better, way better than nothing, but we can only hope that this is not the new normal. I want my old normal back!
