Not great, but better than nothing

Most of the strip clubs in Michigan have been temporarily shuttered as a result of the Governor's order to close bars and taverns to prevent the spread of COVID. Somehow, the Deja Vu has dodged the shutdown order, perhaps because they do not serve alcohol and thus, do not qualify as a bar or tavern. The Kalamazoo Deja Vu shares the same building with Little Darlings, a topless club that serves alcohol. Little Darlings is closed but Deja Vu is open. Deja Vu does a forehead temperature check and ask patrons to wear face masks except when sitting at your table and drinking a soda (or other non-alcoholic beverage)

The club has lots of negatives. Admission price is steep, $20. They refused to honor VIP cards that were still valid because they were purchased before the COVID shutdown. The staff asks patrons to put away their cell phones. That is OK (to prevent unauthorized photos) but sometimes there are long stretches without a performer on stage where check your smart phone is the only distraction. Lap dances are $20 for topless and $40 for all nude. The songs are typically cut short, around 2.5 minutes so the value is not especially good. The lap dance cubicles and the more expensive private VIP areas are monitored by video cameras. The talent can be spotty, often not many girls working early in the evening (say around 9-10PM) and some are a bit on the chunky side. However, there are some attractive women that work here. According to dancer reports, this clubs gets busier much later in the evening.

Nevertheless, they are open and they have some dancers. The dancers are often a mix of White, Black and Latina women. Some are in pretty good shape and do entertaining 2 to 3 song stage routines. Many of the dancers perform nude by the final song in their set. The club has removed all chairs from the tip rail but you can approach the stage and offer tips. Some of the dancers will engage with customers at the tip rail. And many of the dancers will sit and talk with customers, hoping to sell private dances.
