T&A: will it survive ?
March 2020 First club visit of the night but actually had another club for my objective. I park in a "secret" spot because the club lot is so small. It had been remodeled slightly since my previous visit. No walls moved but stage was updated from it's 80s appearance. Some minor reworking of the tables. Most dancers were hanging with regulars when they weren't onstage. The security guys in the main room were friendly and checking to make sure everyone was happy. I felt welcomed.
It may be important for some people to know the Light Rail South Extension will start construction soon and will pass directly in front of the club. I've been trying to figure out how it affects T&A. There isn't much space between the club building and the street. Though there is a small median on Central, there needs to be space for two lanes of traffic plus two sets of tracks. You can kiss that narrow median goodbye but the only hopes for the club depend on how much land is taken from the police station parking lot across the street and whether the City will compensate the club to rebuild or move. Long time city residents might remember Teasers, a club that was on the SE corner of 7th Avenue and Camelback, and removed to make room for light rail. That club eventually was relocated to Grand Ave. It became Stilettos, then Dirtys after an ownership change.
