Club is Open for Business. Business is Different for Now.
Mens Club is one of the larger clubs in San Antonio. When operating normally it's one of the two best clubs in town (best if you look at it one way, next best if you look at things a slightly different way). I'm going to just get to the point on what it's like right now at re-open, with the presumption that things will get back to "normal" when the city gives the word that they can.
When you walk in, someone might ask you to let them take your temperature with a touchless thermometer. Forehead scan. No big deal, unless it comes back that you have a fever. Management and other staff are wearing masks, dancers are not. Customers are not required to wear masks, but some still were. Tables are not necessarily blocked or moved around, but the waitresses were guiding customers to sit spaced out from one another. There was not a lot of wandering around from customers happening, but some. Dancers were putting on a show at the main stage and not rotating between stages when I was there, but dancers could get on the side stages if they felt like it. I was there on dayshift. Manager was taking a look at what was going on, and doing his best to enforce the distancing rules they had put in place. One customer was pretty drunk and acting rowdy, so the manager was busy but professional. The club also had a bathroom attendant working on dayshift, which is not typical.
There was some type of yellow tape that was being used as a boundary around all the stages on the main floor. Did not see the upstairs, but it was opened up for night shift. Dancers were accepting tips at the stage, but customers were mainly leaving the tips there and not touching. Dancers were sitting at tables with customers, but there were not private dances happening tableside or anywhere else. All dancing and tipping was supposed to be happening on stage. There were some new booth looking seating against the wall over to the right of the main stage, under the right projection tv. A guy was sitting there watching the show, but again there was no private dances happening. When I was there they had about 5 girls dressed and on the floor. All seven ups but not their killer lineup. Cover was $5 on dayshift, and drinks were closer to night prices. $7 for a basic mixed drink, and $11 for the drink the dancers wanted. Bar was closed, but if you needed to ask for something you could walk over provided you didn't linger.
