A Rose By Any Other Name

It was a two-day adventure in Tijuana that included multiple visits to Hong Kong. I booked a double room in Hotel Cascadas on the fifth floor, in part because the double rooms tend to be much nicer than the single rooms. I would book a jacuzzi room, but I had prearranged a TLN with an ATF and despite multiple offers, she has never used the jacuzzi, so why go to the extra expense? I paid $120 plus a $30 deposit for the room with a VIP discount card for a Wednesday and Thursday night experience.

There was some construction being performed in the older section of the hotel on that floor; they are revamping the single rooms. Of course, I had to cross the barriers and see what was going on. Next time I will book a single room, as they are much smaller, but the new versions look great. I hate that prices are going up, but it is good to see that the company is putting the money back into the building. My understanding is that the same group is taking over the corner of the block and will be expanding into that area. Not sure what the plan is, but there is a lot of activity there. And across the street there is some new building and I am anxious to know what that will become.

My ATF said she would be in the bikini contest, so I walked in the HK door Wednesday at 5:00. I didn’t know the start time and expected it to be sometime between 9:00 and midnight. A mesero who knows me well, Aldo, greeted me and said the bikini contest was starting now. So, I took a seat at the stage, expecting it to be crowded. It wasn’t; there were still a number of open seats around the stage and open tables on the floor.
