A few changes since last time

I will start with changes I noticed since the last time I was here a few months ago:

1) There are new bar stools in Outer Space (the upstairs club). They are square shaped and have small wire backs. The backs are useless because they are short and angle away from the stool. I did not notice a difference in performance of getting a dance on these stools compared to whatever they had before.

2) Patron (bartender) called last call at around 9:30. This is a later time than what I've noticed in the last few years. It was also pretty busy right up to last call--there were at least 6 dancers and 8 customers there when the lights came on, which was 15 minutes AFTER last call. This may be due to the reduced number of after-hours clubs in operation right now??

The club is deep in West Philly, and it may appear to be in a sketchy area but I've never had any problem. There have been some homicides within several blocks in the last 5 years, but the two I'm familiar with did not involve customers or dancers of the clubs. There is a bouncer--always the same guy--that pats you down pretty thoroughly when you enter. Cover is $10 and this gets you into both La Pearl (downstairs) and Outer Space (upstairs).
