Return to TD’s - not up to the good old days, but still fun
It had been a while since I had been to TD’s North due to several factors, but not a whole lot has changed in the year or so since I was last here. What has changed is slightly for the worse. They rejiggered the VIP area with plastic panels that are lower than the old ones and offer less privacy. The dancers were reluctant to go as far as they used to in the VIP area. This is probably all part of the never ending dance the club does with the city and law enforcement to stay legal and still offer as much entertainment as they can to the customers. I am not sure they are winning the battle. At least no one was wearing the latex pasties this visit.
TD’s North is an in-between club, not glitzy and flashy like some upscale clubs and not a dive either. You will be met at the door by a bouncer who will wand you and record your ID. I know some don’t’ like the ID scanning, but I have never had an issue. I have asked about it before and was told that they only use it if there is trouble in the club or until credit card charges clear. It is dark when you enter. There are two stages, but when things are slow, which they were when I visited, they only use one. Dancers dance two sets. Tipping is at the stage.
Drinks are $5.75 for domestic bottle beer and proportionally more for hard liquor, which I think is on the high side. They run drink specials from time to time, but it never seems to be what I am interested in drinking. Service is prompt and for the most part polite. If you drink at the bar, the bartender during the day is a knockout asian.
