Tourists-You can do better!

Its been a couple years since I was at Tootsies and I had a chance to visit on both a Tues afternoon and Saturday just after midnight. Bottom line... wow- you can just do so much better I promise you.

First annoying thing to be prepared for (unlike other clubs) is a wait in line just to get in the front door. It took about 15 mins on the Tues afternoon but 45 mins on Sat night. Insane right? Naturally it was my commitment to unwavering TUSCL journalism, (not pussy seeking nooooo) that I endured this stupidity. I am writing some of this review (and answered several emails) while I waited in line. Where coming with a friend or gang makes it better. Smh. In fact the line had about 30 people in front of me at 12:30. At 12:52 there are now 10 people in front of me and now 65 people behind me. At 1 am this line is over 75 mins. The reason is one dumb ass security staff who literally thinks he’s a federal Customs agent or something. I’m talking double eye roll here people. He keeps the line back 15 ft and let’s one person at a time advance, reviews their ID, scans his hand wand all over, and THEN has a short fucking interview of about 5 questions with each person. REALLY. For Fucks Sake. Even after he passes a few through, he often checks his phone or looks around for awhile before calling the next person to advance. I kept waiting for him to maybe take a 15 min cigarette break- I mean it must be very stressful work keeping South FL tits and ass safe from terrorists after all.

They must have to do this because of a thug problem I guess? That’s def 1/3 the crowd in line. Dressed kinda gangster like. I as a 40 smtn white dude NOT the target market. Still I was treated great by EVERYONE - I saw no trouble or rowdiness anywhere so their screening works I guess. Annoying as fuck nonetheless.
