Experience counts in a dancer
I visited Booby Trap Pompano on Tuesday February 26, 2020 from about 7:30 to 9:30 PM. Actually I was going to visit on Monday afternoon but couldn’t find the place, I roughly knew where it was but there is no sign directly visible from the street. So on Monday I recouped the drive by gong to Diamond Dolls instead which is just down the street. I won’t do a review of DD since it’s been reviewed at lot and it seemed just the same as it was when I was there 2 years ago. Anyway I went back on Tuesday night after looking more closely at the map and had no trouble finding Booby Trap, especially since it was lit up with colored lights after dark. Clearly a lot of work is being done to enlarge the club including adding a second floor and the building looks quite nice from the outside but is still rather small and old on the inside. There is a large parking lot and they were collecting $1 for self parking. Cover was $5, no ID check or security scan. Signs said 2 drink minimum but it didn’t seen to be enforced.
It’s a rectangular building with the short ends parallel to the street. The entrance is on the long side about 2/3 of the way down. Entering the club you see the one and only, one pole, stage to the right. The main bar is along the rear wall beyond the stage. There is another bar and seating area to the left and raised up. To the left of the bar is the “friction dance” area and to the right of the main bar are the rest rooms. There are chairs at a tip rail around the stage and tables and chairs farther back. Halfway around the stage along the front and end walls are a continuous raised couch. The vinyl upholstery on this is so old and ripped it’s now one continuous patch. Smoking is allowed. There were several small TV’s showing college basketball . They have food, a bar and lunch type menu. I had a cheeseburger and fries and a bottle of water for $17. The bottle of water was a small generic one and I think by itself was $4 or $5. After eating I went to the rest room to wash the grease from my hands, they had an attendant handing out paper towels and with a small amount of stuff for sale.
There were about 20 customers, no female customers. There were about the same number of dancers although day shift dancers were leaving and night shift dancers arriving while I was there. Most of the dancers were Latina, there was one AA and at least one white woman as mentioned later. They did 3 song sets on the stage, covered, topless, nude. Not much pole work. The steps up to the stage had no side railings and the dancers coming and going helped each other up and down which is otherwise hard in high heels.
