Favorite Club in the Triangle

I have so far been here 3 times and to Pure Gold in Cary about 5 times. While I enjoy Pure Gold, this place gets the edge in my book. The atmosphere here is more laidback and less sleazy - maybe not as "classic" of a strip club experience (there's no raised main stage, for instance) but much more conducive to hanging out and relaxing. If you want some casual conversation from the ladies before or after you buy dances from them, this is the place to go. There's not as much of a "sales" push as there is at Pure Gold - so while I have not encountered the "wow you turn me on so much" act that can be fun to experience at PG, interactions at Teaser's have the benefit of feeling more genuine and less pushy.

The main room has low ceilings, as it's in the basement area of a larger building in downtown Durham. There's a parking lot right by the entrance on Ramseur St that is free by the time the club opens. It’s $12 to get in (a bit pricier than the entrance fees elsewhere in the area). Most of the beers I’ve ordered have costed about $5.25. Going off my memory, lap dances in the main area are $20 per song, with lap dances in the private area running you $100 for 10 minutes and $150 for 15. The private area is up a staircase in the corner of the main area. Although it can depend on the girl, the typical touching rules I’ve experienced is hands-off during lap dances in the main area, and you can touch anything that’s not covered by their thong in the private area.

It can be a little intimidating to walk up to the performance area to tip, but you’ll find the greater effort leads to a greater reward. You’ll get a few seconds of personal attention and physical closeness with the dancer for the dollars that you place in her leg garter. As for the rest of the space, there’s plenty of seating, some of it centered around a side-stage that is used as the night gets going. I’ve only been on weekend nights between 8 and 11 pm, and never felt that it was too crowded with other patrons. Even though it doesn’t get too crowded, the onus is still usually on you to find a lady. Like I said, I’ve been there 3 times, each time for several hours, and have only been approached by about 2 dancers total. This isn’t a knock against the place - even though I like the flipped gender pursuit dynamics of some clubs, this particular quality to Teaser’s helps with its “no pressure, just hang out” atmosphere.
