Visited: Thursday Evening

Decided to visit the Rhino after an evening work event. I arrived a little after 7:00 PM. I believe they open at 6:00. There’s were about 8-10 girls working which is a good number for this early in the evening compared to other Minneapolis clubs. I’m sure the layout of the club has been described before but it’s a long and narrow space. Upon entering you pay a $10 cover and have to show your ID which is scanned. The bouncer guy then wands you down to make sure you’re ok. Coat check was offered. Once inside the club you walk past a small, one-gal stage, and then the bar is on your right with some high top tables and chairs on your left. A little farther in on your right is the main stage with additional seating on your left. In the back are some VIP rooms and bathrooms. There are additional VIP rooms upstairs and downstairs.

The talent this evening was ok. Most dancers were probably a 6 or 7 in my book. I grabbed a seat facing the main stage. There were about 5 other patrons in the establishment at that time. The girls dance for 3 songs on the main stage, then they move to the small stage near the entrance for another 3 song set. I got a Coors Light which was around $5 and is a bargain compared to other SCs in town. That may have been a happy hour price as I think from other visits prices are higher later in the evening.

I was approached by one gal who chatted with me for a bit, but wasn’t my type so I politely passed on a dance. Shorty thereafter another dancer approached who was a bit more my type. We chatted a bit and I got two dances from her which were $20 each. After she moved on I was approached a couple more times but declined dances. Finally a new girl appeared who was attractive to me. She sat with me for a bit but then was called up on stage. After dancing at both stages she returned to my chair. I did a $20 dance with her and then decided to do a semi-private dance with her. These are done in the rear of the main floor just past the main stage. The area consists of four small semi-private “booth-like” areas. The cost is $140 for 15 minutes of which $100 goes to the dancer. We ended up doing two of these sets. Contact was fairly good for a Minneapolis club, but nothing too crazy. She asked if I wanted to try one of the other private rooms, which I was interested in, but at $300 plus a $200 bottle of Champaign, it just didn’t seem worth it to me. Private rooms at Ricks are $300 plus $75 to the club and at DTC are $200 plus $75 for the same half hour time. $500 all-in seemed a little excessive. After my private dance, I hung around for another 10 minutes or so and then left. Overall SR is ok, but on this evening wasn’t anything special.
